Edo State Public Procurement Agency

The Edo State Public Procurement Agency is a corporate body with perpetual succession and a common seal established under Section 1, Sub-section 1 of the Edo State Public Procurement Law 2012 on 29th February 2012 (Now repealed and re-enacted Law Known as Edo State Public Procurement Law 2020). Our agency is mandated to regulate and harmonize procurement activities across government ministries, departments, and agencies. We provide guidance, support, and oversight to ensure compliance with procurement laws, regulations, and best practices.

To be the leading regulatory Agency in Nigeria, instilling efficient, effective, and sustainable Procurement Processes thereby ensuring transparency and accountability in Public Procurement. As an agency, we establish a world-class public procurement system in Edo State that is transparent and responsive to the needs of citizens. We aspire to be a model of excellence in procurement governance, setting new standards for integrity, professionalism, and innovation in the management of public resources.

Mission

Adopt international best practices and professionalism to ensure the application of fair, competitive, and value-for-money processes in the procurement and disposal of Government assets to enthrone good governance and earn public trust in Edo State.
Our mission is to promote efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public procurement processes through effective regulation, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement. We aim to facilitate the acquisition of goods, works, and services in a manner that maximizes value for money, promotes competition, and fosters socio-economic development in Edo State.

What We Do

  • Develop and enforce procurement regulations, guidelines, and standards to ensure compliance and consistency in procurement practices.

  • Provide training, capacity building, and advisory services to procurement officers, bidders, and other stakeholders to enhance professionalism and competence in procurement.

  • Conduct procurement audits, reviews, and evaluations to assess compliance with procurement laws and identify areas for improvement.

  • Facilitate the registration and prequalification of contractors, suppliers, and service providers to promote fair competition and ensure the quality and integrity of procurement processes.

  • Implement e-procurement systems and technologies to streamline procurement processes, reduce transaction costs, and enhance transparency and efficiency.

Responsibilities

The Edo State Public Procurement Agency is responsible for regulating all public procurements in the State including its Local Government Councils in line with Section 20 of the Edo State Public Procurement Law 2020.
